Information for the Fly-in Pilot | Aircraft EntryAll pilots are invited to attend the Dalby Wings & Wheels Spectacular by flying in. Naturally arriving pilots will need to be extra diligent in their lookout at this time but the area is quite friendly to those not familiar with the region. Dalby Aerodrome is 96nm west of Archerfield , 133 NM north-west of Gold Coast, and 42nm west of Toowoomba Airports. For those who are unfamiliar with the area, Dalby adjuncts to the west of Oakey military airspace so you should be aware of status when flying through. Once landed you will be directed by Air side marshalling to your parking area, these marshals will be radio equipped to enhance traffic flow, so let them know if you are camping or require fuel. Camping will be adjacent to the “green hangar” at the eastern end of the aerodrome, but be aware that after rain, Dalby’s black soil can bog your aircraft so stay on prepared runways and taxiways. Refer to ERSA for current details but Dalby Aerodrome will have one runway operating, the main 13/31 sealed runway, length 1,269m, width 30m. We are planning to have the 04/22 cross strip with a displaced threshold with the southern portion unserviceable due to ground based activities. The remaining north-eastern usable portion will have a length of 600 m with grass overruns Regardless of what you fly, whether it be a hang glider, gyro, ultra light, sport, GA or a biz jet….You are invited to attend…..See you all at the 2010 Dalby Wings & Wheels spectacular…21st August, 2010...[Enter Your Aircraft] |
